Uploading videos taking forever

I'm trying to upload 30 minute videos (around 70MB) The uploading is taking 10-15 minutes but the encodiing is taking upto 4 hours! This can't be right. Is there anyway to speed this up?

What format should the videos be in before I upload them? At the moment they are h.264 mp4 files

    Sorry for not responding earlier, I was traveling while this came in.

    The encoding should not take 4h for a 70mb video. It seems like our server is running out of memory, but all processes seem to be operating normally.

    I'm investigating further right now and will update you shortly!
