Ok, got it, it's either:
- because the bucket was not created before-hand - or (most likely) because I used a "shared" bucket of s3
I pre-create the buckets and all looks well

What do you mean by "shared" bucket? Anyway, yes the bucket needs to exist beforehand. Another issue could be that S3 is can sometimes be unavailable. We're already doing 3 retires, but we will also add some exponential back-off in the future to make it almost impossible for that to fail.
